Editor's Note
The tomb is dedicated to Yazicioglu Mehmed (Mehmed Bican), a 15th-century Sufi and scholar. Thought to have been born in Kadikoy or Evrese, he was first educated by his father Yazici Salih, learned Arabic and Persian, and travelled through various Islamic lands. After meeting Haci Bayram-i Veli he turned to Sufism and became known chiefly for his scholarly works.
