Editor's Note
This site lies at the Köyiçi locality of Sarıcaeli village, in the central district of Çanakkale province. It contains ancient marble and stone column fragments reused as building material, a templon pier, and Ottoman-period graves dating to the 18th, 19th and 20th centuries. The oldest grave identified here is the headstone of Hüseyin, son of Hasan, dated 25 Muharram 1228 (25 January 1715). The cemetery, which also holds more recent burials, is neglected today. It was registered as a protected cultural asset by the Çanakkale Regional Council for the Conservation of Cultural Heritage by decision no. 8945, dated 29 May 2023.
