Editor's Note
It lies within the boundaries of Kumköy, in the Eceabat district of Çanakkale province. The village known today as Kumköy is known to have been formed by the merger of the villages of Uzun Hıdırlı, Keçeli/Keçili and Bahşiköy. Following the fire of 2020, the traces of the settlement could be seen more clearly. Foundation traces of buildings, Ottoman-period ceramic fragments and 10 water wells have been identified in the area, along with sesame-pressing workshops. The site is an important example for the study of 15th- to 19th-century Ottoman archaeology.
