Editor's Note
It lies within the boundaries of Kumköy, in the Eceabat district of Çanakkale province. The great majority of the gravestones in the area are turban-topped Ottoman-period men's gravestones. There are also blank gravestones erected from single pieces of natural stone. The village known today as Kumköy is known to have been formed by the merger of the villages of Uzun Hıdırlı, Keçeli/Keçili and Bahşiköy, but the village of Keçili near the cemetery has been identified as belonging to an old Ottoman settlement. In 2020 the cemetery area and its gravestones were damaged by fire.
