Editor's Note
It was built during the reign of Selim III and Mahmud II, with a construction date of 1807-1820. Its restoration true to the original was completed in 1985 by the Çanakkale Strait Command. Because it stands on a headland (Kale Burun), one can easily see both the Sea of Marmara side and the Aegean Sea side of the strait. It was registered by the Çanakkale Regional Council for the Protection of Cultural Assets by decision No. 7579, dated 28 January 2022.
