Editor's Note
The monastery in the abandoned village of Taşburun consists of three separate churches. The earliest church, dated to the 5th–6th centuries, has been entirely converted into a mosque, and its original plan and architecture are unknown. The second church, to the northeast of it, is dated to the 7th century; its remains indicate that it was single-naved and domed. The third church, dated to the 11th century, has an octagonal exterior and a four-lobed clover-shaped plan inside.
