Editor's Note
From the Ottoman-Turkish inscription on the outer face of the courtyard wall, just beside the entrance gate, it is estimated that the mosque may have been built in AH 1250 (AD 1834). The square-plan mosque has two courses of cut stone at foundation level, with its body walls built in the cyclopean (mosaic) masonry technique; it has a hipped roof covered with sheet metal. The mosque, which appears to have been renovated in 1962, has a two-bay portico. The portico was later enclosed. The portico is covered with rafters, while the ceiling of the mosque's prayer hall is of concrete.
