Editor's Note
Located in the village of Zoğallı in the Zara district, 32 km from the district centre, it was built by Mehmet Efendi in 1910. Donated in 1937 to be used as a primary school, the mansion is rectangular in plan. The front section, facing southeast, was built with a ground floor and an upper floor containing a köşk (pavilion) room. The pavilion room above the main entrance has collapsed. Built using the bağdadî technique, the mansion has a garden in front of it. The room ceilings are decorated and the ceiling roses painted in red ochre; the building is lime-plastered, with a threshold roof and sheet-metal cladding, and is in a neglected state.
