The Sivas Municipality has begun work to rebuild the Sahna Kümbet, the tomb-tower that gave the Kümbet neighbourhood its name and that collapsed entirely in 1906. Of Seljuk origin, this important monument was noted throughout history for its form and architecture, and was especially known for its pyramid-shaped roof, its dome, and its distinctive window arrangement. A two-line inscription in Arabic thuluth script belonging to the tomb is preserved today at Sivas High School. It reads: "O God, forgive Hüseyin b. Cafer, the owner of this grave, a weak servant in need of Your mercy. In the year 629 / 1231-32."
