Editor's Note
The military cemetery lies about 400 m past the fork in the road, turning left, just before reaching the village of Alçıtepe, which the Allies aimed to capture within 24 hours. It stands on the right side of the road heading toward the Bakı Terrace and the Marshal Fevzi Çakmak Monument, set back about 10-15 m from the road. The cemetery's inscription reads: "Buried in this cemetery are the soldiers who fell as martyrs serving in the units that formed the Turkish defensive line in the Alçıtepe area during the Battle of Gallipoli. This homeland is grateful to its precious martyrs. May your souls rest in peace."
