Editor's Note
It lies within the village of Alemşah in the Ezine district of Çanakkale province. Part of the site is thought to have served as camps for the workers employed at the nearby Akçakeçili Column Quarries. Numerous everyday handle and base fragments, along with cut granite blocks and columns, have been found at the site. Architectural fragments that may date to the Roman or Byzantine period, thought to have come from various other places and not in situ, have also been found. It appears that granite was being extracted here until recent times.
