Editor's Note
Located at the Kaletepe site within the village of Alanköy in the central district of Çanakkale province. It is mentioned in the doctoral thesis by Reyhan Körpe titled "The Troad Under Achaemenid Rule (545 BC–334 BC): A Historical and Cultural Assessment in Light of Archaeological Data and Ancient Sources." The fortress settlement at Kaletepe is the site whose plan and wall dimensions have been determined most clearly among the other fortresses of the Troad. Since no finds occur on the western slope of the hill, the settlement is said to have faced east.
