Editor's Note
Located at the Mehmetçiköldü Tepe site within the village of Alanköy in the central district of Çanakkale province. On the hill, which is covered with oak and holm oak trees, there are 18 piled stone masses. As the stones used are like those in the fortification walls of Alanköy Castle and the piles are arranged in a sequence, this raises the question of whether they were watchtowers or tombs belonging to the Alanköy Castle settlement.
