Editor's Note
Located within the village of Alanköy in the central district of Çanakkale province. It was identified in two illegal excavation pits on a sloping hill in wooded terrain opposite the Mehmetçiköldü Tepe site settlement. Red-slipped tile fragments datable to the Late Roman–Byzantine period and stone piles were found around and inside the illegal excavation pits. These tombs, which are common in the Çanakkale region, are described as simple tile-built graves rather than tumuli.
