The mosque has no construction inscription. In the prayer hall, above the mihrab, beneath the inscription 'Kullama dehale aleyha Zekeriyya'l-mihrab,' appears '... el-Hac Rif'at Ömer Leh? 1289 AH / 1872-73 AD.' There is also, behind the mosque at its southeast corner, about 3 m from the building, a fountain bearing a construction inscription. According to the fountain inscription, it was built in 1872-73. In the Hurufat records the mosque appears as the Hacı Ahmed Mosque. From its plan and architectural features it is understood that the building may have been constructed in the 18th century. The mosque is rectangular in plan with three aisles perpendicular to the mihrab.
