Editor's Note
The mosque was built in 1866; its architect and patron are unknown. A neighbourhood mosque with an earth-covered roof and a wooden minaret, the building has undergone many alterations over the years. A thorough repair in 1973 enlarged it and gave it its present form, adding a briquette minaret, a concrete mezzanine floor, a partial basement and brick walls.
