The Church of Profitis Ilias is a former Greek Orthodox place of worship that stood on a commanding rise in the Ayvalık district of Balıkesir, today known as İlk Kurşun Hill. The fact that the building, rebuilt in 1835 in the form of a three-aisled basilica, is described in Ottoman archival documents as "long-existing" points to the presence on the site of an older religious structure dating from the Byzantine period.
