Editor's Note
Sheikh Bedrettin, who gave the mosque its name, was Bedrettin Halife, the third sheikh of the Emir Sultan Lodge in Bursa. He probably had the mosque built sometime between 1420 and 1440. The present mosque was built in 1954, when the old mosque was demolished and rebuilt. During this rebuilding the mosque's burial ground (hazire) was plundered.
