History and Structure of the Castle: The castle is dated to the Roman period based on the architectural form of its ramparts and the ceramic finds recovered in the area. As the remains show, the structure consists of an inner and an outer castle and extends over an area running east to west. The castle was officially registered with the status of cultural property in 1995. Historical Names and Registration of the Village: It is noted that the village's old name appears in Ottoman-period records as "Kaldırok Kalesi," "Kaldurak Kalesi," or "Kaldıravuk Kalası."
