It was built by Şahruh Bey, son of Alaüddevle of the Dulkadiroğulları Principality, in the 15th century. It was repaired in 1749 by Ahmet Bey, son of Arslan Pasha, and in 1822 by the Çapanoğulları family. Its mihrab has a pentagonal form with six tiers of muqarnas (concave honeycomb ornamentation). It has a single-balconied minaret with a round shaft. During restoration in 2006, the mosque's later-built minaret was demolished and a new minaret faithful to the original was built of cut stone.
