Editor's Note
The construction period of the Alaüddevle Mosque, supported by historical documents, points to the second half of the 15th century. The name Alaüddevle suggests a connection between the building and Alaüddevle Bozkurt Bey, one of the Dulkadirid lords, while the earliest definite date associated with the building comes from a repair inscription of 999 AH / 1590 CE. This inscription shows that the mosque was repaired by a man named Mahmut. The mosque has a single-space plan that is rectangular, and its roof is covered by a barrel vault. Entry is through the crown portal placed at the centre of the north façade.
