Editor's Note
The Büyük Bürüngüz Meydan Fountain was repaired in 1573, a date later than the building's construction. As no definitive construction inscription survives, the year the structure was built is unknown. However, by comparison with the Alaüddevle Mosque, the oldest dated building in the town, researchers suggest the fountain may have been built in the second half of the 15th century. The square-plan fountain measures 5.00 x 5.00 metres and stands 6.35 metres high up to its stone finial.
