It was built in 1567 at Barsama, on the Silk Road, by Mahpeyker Hatice Hatun, daughter of Musa Pasha, who was in charge of Kayseri during the reign of the Ottoman Sultan Selim II. The historic mosque later fell into ruin and collapsed over time. All that remains of it is the section of the all-but-collapsed minaret up to its balcony.
