The building, which has a repair decree dated 1835 (1250 AH), is thought to be the Armenian church recorded in the 1872 title deeds as standing on Church Street in the Lower Armenian Quarter. No further information about the church's construction or repair could be found. Closed in 1907, it was later reopened for worship and given a permanent priest. According to village residents, the church had a caretaker until 20-25 years ago and was in sound condition, but today it serves no function. The building is the common property of the village and was registered on 5 August 1988 by decision no. 260 of the Conservation Council.
