Editor's Note
The Sıbyan Mektebi (primary school) is located on the lower floor of the Han Mosque. The building was constructed in 1899, during the reign of Abdülhamid II, by Derviş Efendi, Undersecretary of the Şeyhülislam's Office (Meşihat). This building was erected in place of an older mescit (small mosque).
