Editor's Note
The Gazer Serikioğlu Agop Mansion was built between 1848 and 1850 by Gazer Serikioğlu Agop Efendi. The Armenian community living in the Küçükköy neighborhood, on the grounds that they had no church in the area, sent a petition to Istanbul requesting permission to gather in a house and fulfill their religious duties. Permission arrived from Istanbul around the same time, and the Armenian community worshipped in this mansion until the Tol Church was built in 1872.
