Although the Haydar Bey Pavilion is generally dated to the second half of the 14th century, its architectural features and its proximity to the Seljuk-era foundation (vakıf) lands of the region have led some to suggest it may belong to the 13th century. For this reason its exact date of construction cannot be precisely determined, and both periods are considered possible. The pavilion has a rectangular plan measuring 21.80 x 18.00 meters on a north-south axis. The section projecting to the north joins the main hall, which is entered through the monumental portal on the west facade.
