After capturing Urfa in 1600, Karayazıcı proclaimed his sovereignty. He routed the forces sent against him from Istanbul under the command of Hacı İbrahim Pasha in the vicinity of Kayseri. Later, the governor of Baghdad, Sokolluzade Hasan Pasha, was appointed commander and marched against Karayazıcı. Source: Karayazıcı, Wikipedia. Note: The location is an estimate.
