The body of Emir Gazi, who died in Malatya (1134), was brought to Kayseri and buried in the tomb he had built during his lifetime in the village of Melik Gazi in the Pazarören sub-district of the Pınarbaşı district. Because of his connection with Eskişehir, some local sources and legends record that he died (AH 529 / AD 1134) and was buried near an earthen fortress between the Arabviran and Çukur Ağıl hamlets of the Seyitgazi sub-district. And because of his connection with Malatya, he is reckoned a descendant of Seyyid Battal Gazi: Seyyidetü'ş-Şerifetü'l-Aleviyye, the sister of Battal Gazi, was the wife of Ömer b., the emir of Malatya.
