Editor's Note
It is located within the boundaries of Tabaklar village in the Ayvacik district of Canakkale province. To the west of Tabaklar village there are nine water wells, still in use and lined up side by side. About 100 m beyond this area is a rock tomb carved into the bedrock at ground level. The site yields numerous sand-, gravel- and straw-tempered, coarse-fabric tile fragments in light and dark red, along with pithos fragments and pottery sherds. Since a single Eastern Roman copper coin (follis) was also found, the characteristics of the site suggest it dates to the 8th-13th centuries AD.
