Editor's Note
Located in our district's village of Yazoren (now named Yazoren neighborhood), Yazoren Cave is one of Turkey's longest caves, still waiting to be fully explored. The ceiling at the cave entrance is 25 meters high. The surface waters of a wide area drain through this cave, making it a semi-active cave that hosts a strong flow of water in winter and spring. The thousands-of-years-long journey of this water can be read from the traces on the cave walls. The galleries in the central part of the cave hold stalactites and stalagmites, extraordinary formations created by lime-rich waters that seep down from the surface to reach the cave.
