Construction of the school, begun in 1909 under the leadership of District Governor Yahya Sezai Bey and Mufti Hacı Sadık Efendi, was completed in 1911 and opened for teaching, remaining in use until an additional building was constructed in 1967. [1] Sources also mention the existence of two madrasas in Sındırgı, as well as secondary (rüştiye) and primary (iptidai) schools.
