Editor's Note

Built between 1926 and 1927, the Ziraat Bank Manisa Branch Building stands within a garden and has a more dynamic mass than the other four buildings. In this building, the spaces on the ground floor are organized clearly and simply, and the exterior decoration is not carried over to the interior; its first floor, in keeping with its original function, is still used as staff housing. The building has no light well, and its first-floor residences are reached by a staircase that faces the street but is set in the background.
