According to the view recorded on the building's old-monument registration card at the General Directorate of Foundations, the structure was built by Karamanoğlu Halil Paşa on an unknown date, while its two domes and minaret were added in AH 1141 / AD 1728 by Hacı Osman Ağa, steward to Damat İbrahim Paşa.
