Editor's Note
The Sheikh Necmettin Tomb, beside the Erzen Hatun Tomb in the Erzen Hatun Cemetery, is the oldest historic structure in Ahlat. It is covered by a square pyramidal cap rising upward. In this respect it is the only example of its kind, as the other tombs are all cylindrical with conical caps. It was built by Sheikh Necmettin in 1222.
