Editor's Note
Of the twin tombs, it is the smaller one, nearer to old Ahlat. W. Bachman refers to it as the 'small tomb.' The inscription above the entrance door (on the north) states that Huseyin Timur, son of Bogatay Aka, was martyred in the month of Rajab AH 680 (November AD 1279). It must have been built at this date. The inscription on the lintel of the east window states that Esen Tekin Hatun, daughter of Husameddin Huseyin Aka, died in the month of Shawwal AH 678 (February AD 1280).
