Editor's Note
The Emir Bayındır Tomb, also known as the Parmaklıklı (Latticed) Tomb, is the mausoleum of Emir Bayındır bin Rüstem, a bey of the Aq Qoyunlu dynasty, in Ahlat. According to its inscription, it was commissioned by his wife Şah Selime Hatun after his death in 1481. The tomb also holds the remains of their son Muhammad, who died in 1488 or 1489. When built, it formed part of a complex that included a mosque and a zawiya.
