A castle built on a hill about 2 to 3 km east of Genc. Sources record it as Dara Hini and Dare Hindir Kelie, while local people call it Dara Hindir Kella, meaning the Fountain of Dara, and it is said that the Persian king Darius had it built for his daughter in the 7th century BC. It is also known as Genc Castle, and the district of Genc takes its name from it. One source says it was built by the Akkoyunlu ruler Uzun Hasan for his wife Despina (also called Theodora), the daughter of the Greek Emperor of Trebizond, when he married her.
