Editor's Note
The reason it is called the Bekarlar (Bachelors') Fountain is that the warmth of the fountain's water led it to be used for bathing. Because those living here used the vaulted space to the west of the fountain as a bathhouse, it came to be known as the Bachelors' Fountain. Location and Setting: It is on the hillside northwest of the Gozsuyuderesi stream, in the settlement of the valley known as 'Eski Sehir' (the Old Town), the former location of Arapgir, in the Osmanpasa quarter of the Arapgir district. Present Condition: The corner walls of the pointed-arch fountain on its front facade have collapsed, and the western wall masonry has been completely lost.
