The Karahan, or Kara Hani, lies within the village of Gungoren in the Arguvan district of Malatya province. Travelling from Arguvan to Malatya, it sits atop a hill about 1.5 km past the Gungoren junction toward the village centre. As it has neither an inscription nor any documentation, there is no definite information about it; some researchers suggest the building dates to the 13th century. Now completely in ruins, the han offers no data on its plan.
