The Aziziye Mosque was built in AH 1331 / AD 1912. Laid out over a rectangular area running north to south, the mosque has a central plan composed of a central dome carried by four free-standing columns, with low barrel vaults attached to it on all four sides; small domes occupy the corners. In the square-planned prayer hall, the transition to the central dome is made by pendentives, and the dome rests on four monolithic stone columns. The dome is supported by barrel vaults on all four sides, while the surfaces left in the corners are covered with domes.
