The first to provide information about the Şeyh Ciman Han was Prof. Dr. Orhan Cezmi Tuncer. In his work "The Diyarbakır–Bitlis Caravan Route and Our Hans Along It," he describes the building as follows: "The Şeyh Ciman Han is a structure that had never been mentioned before. It lies 10–12 km east of Duhan, in a settlement called Şeyh Ciman (new name: Çeltikli). The fact that the Bitlis–Diyarbakır road forks at Duhan and that there is a han here is, according to Prof. Dr. Orhan Cezmi Tuncer, a point that deserves careful attention."
