Editor's Note
The Malabadi Bridge is a historic arch bridge spanning the Batman River near Malabadi village in Silvan, southeastern Turkey. Construction began in AD 1146/47 during the Artuqid period and was completed around 1154; it was commissioned by Husam al-Din Timurtash of Mardin. According to a 12th-century local historian, it replaced an earlier bridge that had collapsed in 1144.
