Editor's Note
The Yıldırım Rock (Gavur Rock), located south of the Karacabey Plateau at the Karacadağ locality in Keller Quarter, is a settlement site set on a rocky hill. On the eastern side of the limestone rock there are seven water cisterns, each about 1 m in diameter and roughly 2 m deep. There is a concealed water channel cut into the bedrock in a rectangular shape, with 25 countable steps, providing access to the stream to the west. It lies in front of the water channel, which is descended by steps at an angle of about 45 degrees. The limestone rock on which the settlement stands runs in a north-south direction.
