Location and Setting: It stands in the Darende district, Balaban Quarter, on Davutlu Street, off the dead end of Karpuz Lane. It was built into a bay window (şahnişin) in the road-facing wall of the house, in front of the ground floor beneath the Osman Kadıoğlu Mansion. Present Condition: During the restoration of the Balaban House, the spout and water trough of the restored fountain lost their authenticity and were modernized. Today the fountain, fed by mains water from its tap, is still in use. Patron: It was commissioned by Hacı Abdurrahman Pasha, one of the statesmen of Darende. History: According to the rectangular inscription written on küfeki limestone, it dates to AH 1177 (AD).
