The construction inscription of the Yedek Mosque has not survived; however, records in the Hurufat register of 1801 state that the building was constructed as a masjid by Usta Halil. This information shows that the mosque was built in the early 19th century. Architecturally, the mosque has a plan consisting of five aisles perpendicular to the mihrab. The building was constructed entirely of rubble stone and is covered with a wooden-beamed ceiling and a hipped roof on the outside. The prayer hall is entered through a flat-lintel door at the north of the mosque's west facade.
