Editor's Note
The Fahriye Madrasa was one of the first buildings constructed outside the walls together with the Develi Grand Mosque. It was located south of the Kopçullu Mosque, near the Develi Grand Mosque. It was perhaps built at the same time as the Develi Grand Mosque, which Sivasi Hatun had constructed in 1281. Tahsin Özgüç and Mahmut Akok, who conducted research in Develi in the 1940s and 1950s, noted that the madrasa was in a very ruined state, but that its architectural style, cut-stone workmanship, and structural features showed it to be a Seljuk work.
