In his studies of the Abit Tekke Cemetery, Assistant Professor Dr. Kadir Özdamarlar read the Arabic-script gravestones of the figures considered important on this subject and recorded them in his 1996 doctoral thesis titled "The Folklore, Folk Literature and Ethnography of Develi and Its Region, Kayseri." In this work, it was recorded that the oldest gravestone in the Abit Tekke Cemetery dates to 1696. Şeyh Ümmî, who lived between 1327 and 1381, is buried in this cemetery.
