Editor's Note
The Hocalar Mosque Fountain was built in 1809. It adjoins the western corner of the north wall of the Hocalar Mosque and is no longer in use. Designed as a rectangular block, the fountain's niche is covered by a round arch resting on the side walls. Because of the rise in road level, no information survives about its platforms and podium. The marble mirror stone has a single spout; on the keystone of the arch the phrase "Maşallah" and the date AH 1224 can be read. There are two inscriptions on the fountain wall. The upper one cannot be read because it has largely eroded and been damaged.
