Editor's Note
The Hanönü Mosque appears to have been built in the second half of the 18th century. Because the floor of this trapezoidal mosque lies above road level, the entrance is reached by a three-step stair. The round-arched door with a flat lintel, set in the middle of the north facade, opens into a small entrance space. The same facade is lightened by two round-arched windows. The single-balcony minaret at the northwest corner was added later, built in 1957.
